Background to Friday club.
The idea for the club originally came from the Local Community Police. They wanted to reach out to Ladies in the community to teach them new skills in a friendly and welcoming environment.
The club began on Friday 16th November 2012, The name was chosen by the ladies themselves.
There are various roles within the club. Supplying lifts, making tea ,coffee, teaching various skills, knitting, crochetings, bringing a short word for the day.
Maybe you would just like to come for the company and chat with the Ladies.
The ladies continue to knit childrens garments. blankets, dress Barbie dolls and various small items for the Shoe Box Appeal. Knitted and crochet items are sent out to various countries around the world. Romania, Moldova. Kenya, Malawi.
Acts Chapter 9 v 36-39 tells the story of Dorcas. A lady who give of her her time and talents to help others. It is wonderful to see how the ladies freely give of their God given talents to help others a cross the world.
A couple of times a year we go on various outings and from time to time we join together for dinners.
Things have evolved over the years and we have ladies from around the Triangle area attending each week.
The ladies would be very pleased if you were to call in some Friday and see what we get up too.
There is no charge.
